How many dash lights?

I am planning on installing the blue led dash backlighting LED's from superbrightleds.com. I am planning on changing the #74 bulbs with the 74-xHP3 led light from the website. If I read correctly this seems to be the main bulb type that is used for the backlighting in the dash, gauge, and ignition areas in the car.

I am wondering how many lights I would need in the 1g dsm? I know to get a spare because it is almost inevitable that one will be DOA.

I know on my 2g I ordered 13 of the t74 wedge style and it changed everything. I'm not sure about the 1g, but I also thought the 1g bulbs were the big fat ones instead of the little ones like the 2g.

I can't seem to find the thread but the how to thread for the red LEDS in a 2g has a post on how to do it in a 1g somewhere in there.

ya, i think i saw a 1g thread somewhere about the led backlights, but i don't remember if it said the bulb type. I was hoping to avoid having to take apart my car's whole dash just to find out. I was hoping to find someone else with a 1g that has done this. Once we figure this out i'll go back and edit my first post with all the info so hopefully we wont have to search again.

Thank you, eclipsemf that was the thread i saw earlier. After searching thorugh it on page 4 i found rickt84's post about the 1g bulbs. page 4 of http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/appearance-interior-exterior/320755-installed-superbright-red-leds-my-cluster-switches-4.html

Since I havent seen anyone posting any 1g pics up, I thought I would. There are a total of 19 bulbs, 10 74's and 9 194. It's exactly as Rodent has explained, and just as easy. I am waiting on taxes to spend the money upgrading the leds. Hope this helps!

Edit: The pic of the bulbs: Left (bigger) #194 Right (smaller) #74

Is the darkness on the backside of the gauge face from heat-spots? Or is that normal?
So thank you Rickt84 for the info and i hope this helps filter out the extra 2g info for other 1g dsm owners. Also calan has a nice picture of what i want my final dash to kinda look like on page 5 of that thread, but i will repost it here as well.
