How long should it take for my car to be at operating temp. I just put a thermostat in this summer and now that its cold out it takes ten miles to fully warm up. Is this correct? 55 mph driving.

Depending on the Temperature and if you have the Heater on, then normally About 2-3 miles does it for me. 10+ Miles... are you sure you're not exaggerating? ;) Just trying to be honest. If it truly is 10+ miles then something is certainly a bit off.

For the most part It only takes sbout 5min Idling from like 40-50° an Im at around 160° I dont drive usually unless the cars at least that warm

The few times I have drivin my car when it was cold out it wouldn't get above 160*. I however have a very effective cooling system. If your car is stock other than the filter and exhaust piping you have listed and taking that long to heat up I would make sure the tstat is not stuck open. Also have you even done the mod to make your fans run full time? That would cause it to take forever to get to operating temp also.

Also a quick note my car Goes into Close loop very quickly an runs of my wideband also I dont run probably as much Startup enrichment as some people above 60° would be lower below that as well but being that Im on E85 I would be sitting all day tring to start the car LOL

wow, mine is warm after about 3-5 miles, its usually spitting out warm heat right as i pull up to the base(which sucks) and it is about 5 miles away

I live in Colorado and its been cold here lately like freakin zero degrees in the morning! my car warms up like in 10 to 15 minutes idiling and thats with idle surge.. about 3-6 minutes driving all depending on how cold it is
