How long does it take to replace all vacuum hoses/boost hoses?

I need to replace some of the vacuum and boost hose in my car (I have leaks) and figured I might as well get the kit from RRE and just replace them all.

My question is, how long will it take me to do this? I've never done something like this before. How hard is it? Would it be a good idea to get a friend to help? I would hopefully like to get this done on Saturday so when I go to autocross on Sunday I can drive the car to it's fullest. Would it be better to have a shop do this?

And here's a slightly off topic quesiton to go with this: Where does the hose that comes from the blow off valve go to? I know it goes to the intake manifold, but where does it connect? I can't see where it goes, it gets lost in between other hoses and such.

You should consider checking the tech articles as there is an explanation of which vacuum lines you can safely remove. I would do this rather than replacing the mess of vac lines on the car now and maybe replace the hoses for vacuum sources you actually need.

I looked in the tech articles, but didn't find anything. Maybe I missed it.

Yes, you are right, I would rather just replace one hose then all of them. If it was like an hour task, then I figured while I'm in there I might as well do them all. The leaks I'm having are one at the "T" joint that goes to my blow off valve, mbc, and intake manifold. That one is easy, the "T" joint needs replacement (I think I cracked it... oops). The other leak is where ever the hose hooks up to the intake manifold (the one coming from the "T"). I can't see where it goes and connects, but I can hear the leak. It's a loud hissing. When I tug on the hose a bit the hissing gets louder. Either the hose is coming off and needs to be reclamped, or I just need to replace it.

Where does the hose go, how do I reach it's connection? I can't see or reach through the mess of hoses and cables on the side of the engine. Do I need to remove all those cables and hoses?

Enjoy. It's the taboo speed shop write up on what to remove but you can also just use the before pictures to find out where everything goes. On a car as old as yours I'd replace most of the vacuum hoses because chances are they are cracked (some on my 97 were cracked). A quick pointer is to not rush this. Set aside plenty of time and pull each hose off by itself, measure and cut the replacement and put it back on. Hope this helps a bit.

Hi there!

Id like to remove the emission hoses in my JDM Cyclone GVR4.
Anybody there that has a diagram how to do this? Ive only found a diagram for a 1G DSM.
Heres the JDM diagram

How can I do this without messing up the cyclone activation?
Is it possible to just let the other 4 runners always open?

Im having trouble boosting past 10psi on my 14b, Im suspecting theres a vac leak that affects the FPR. Id also like to remove the FPRS.
