How Do You Cut A good FWD 60'?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

IMPORTANT. You all are forgetting that 60' times are not the only consideration you need to take into account when you are making lots of power in a FWD. More focus should be given on 330' times. Example, I can cut a 2.3 60' but have a lower E.T. when I cut a 2.5 60'. This happens because in any FWD eclipse making decent power, second easily breaks loose. So even if I nail the intial launch w/ a 2.1-2.2 60', I may blow the 1-2 shift, or get back in it to early and roast the tires at the end of first and through 2nd resulting in a dismal 330'. So I started focusing on my 330' times more than my 60' times and the results have been a decrease in E.T. and an increase in MPH.

mini supra like what! ;)

You know what? It's so funny you say that. Cause ever since the 97s came on to the scene(especially the GST/X), I have always said that to myself.

Thanks for posting that link on the slicks and wheels that extreme sells.

I'm very very serious about getting a pair of slicks and didn't know where to begin looking.

Before you go and order from extreme do a search you can find the same slick/wheel package cheaper. I ordered from them because I had a race to go that weekend. The last thing to remember about dsm's they are all different and what one guy did to his car (suspension, whatever) might not work on your car.

My car....no lsd, 50 dollar trans (junk yard) some cheap springs.
With these slicks I can pull 1.73 (nothing better) at 7.5 pounds of presssure OMG . Do I think this is the greatest...HELL no, but for a fwd it's not bad. "Adjustable shocks : Soft in the front and hard as possible in the rear" this is the golden rule for fwd.
