How do i replace my 1ga Flip Headlight Motor?

Both of my headlight on my 1g dont flip up or down. Sometimes one of them works sometimes it doesnt and the one doesnt flip at all. I have a 1990 gsx and i was wondering if I have to replace the motors? If i have to replace them, does anyone have a guide on how to do it. thanks

First off, I have the same problem, sort of. Both lights come up, but refuse to go down. Very annoying when every time you want to put them down you have to pop the hood and do it manually. I haven't looked into it, but I don't think the motor is the problem, since they come up fine. My guess is some messed up wiring somewhere.

Now if you have to replace your headlight motor (which I don't recommend, unless you are sure its the problem), its a very easy process. Simply disconnect the arm that attaches the motor to the headlight assembly (pops off easy with a screwdriver), then take out the bolts that hold the motor in. There should be one on top holding it to the frame and two more that attach through the frame to the back of the headlight assembly. Then unplug the motor from the harness and you are done.

It's a fairly simple process. As stated above it's simply a matter of unpluggin it, removing the arm, and unbolting it.

I just did a headlight motor on my 1.8 yesterday. It is simple, just unbolt the three bolts holding to to car and replace, dont forget to hook up the arm that connects it to the headlight itself.
