This will sound really noob but I havent gotten into this are THAT much so im not a pro.

Basically what i want is something that will look nice, and perform good. I like the car to be low, but not low enough to where I cant drag race, but not so high it looks stupid. I also want the car to be stiff, but not TOO stiff (im not whiney though so i could handle pretty stiff) I got tokico blues on right now (came with the car) but I dont know how good they are hooked up or if they are all in good working order, or if I should keep them. My car seems lower then stock but not to low (not much lower then an ESI)

then rims I beleive im going 17" but 17x? im going to imagine 17x8 or so, want it wider, but cant be to wide. and my tires I think 45 series (not as stiff sidewall), but I need to see a picture of how it looks.

Im kind of asking for a lot here, needs to look good, not be 4x4'in, be good at cornering and track stuff and handle good, but be able to drag race too.

I got AWD so I shouldnt have THAT much of a problem with traction, and when I get the new motor in I can always buy a set of DR's or something for when I go out to the track, but I need something I can use on the street as well if I run into someone. but I need to be able to take the rain on as well.

I hope this is making sense.

Also what kind of tires should I get brand wise and everything. I want some good tires, but not horribly expensive.

Read the FAQs at the top of the page. As far as suspension, you are on your own. It really boils down to what you can afford. You can search and read all the posts in this forum, but you will not find a definitive answer. Start off with lowering springs and upgraded shocks and see how you like it.

the stickys on tires dont help to much because everything on here is all about road racing.

Suspension, yea I guess ill have to be on my own, I think ill just try some springs and see how the blues go with it

Just try the pro kit or sportline springs, or H&R lowering springs. Some people hate the Eibach pro kits and sportlines, some people love them. Your blues should be just fine for any of those.

You want a 17x8, but you'll have to ask somebody else about the offset for your 2g. You are in Michigan, so you probably want a tire you can drive year round. If you want very nice sticky tires, check out Toyo Proxes T1 or Kuhmo MX. Falken Azenis if these are your summer tires. 225/45-17 is the generic size that works best, you can also go 235/45-17. Kuhmo, Falken, and Toyo all have nice cheap all season tires in those sizes. You need to decide if you will be doing any winter driving on these tires.

But seriously, these questions get asked and answered millions of times. Read all the posts in here and ask 2g guys what they are running. Use the search button...

If you're already lower then an ESi then you are already lowered. AWD's actaully have slightly more wheel gap then any DSM FWD car wheter turbo or N/T.

I got prokits and from my experince and what ive also heard they seem to be really uneven. Mine have slammed in the front an extra half inch compared to the back.

yea I know I try to search on everything before I post but it comes up with so much unrelated crap...maybe I need to learn how to do it better...

anyway, I dont plan on running the tires in the winter, i will either have a different car, or put my stockers back on.

and 17x8 wont rub anything right? and what about turn radius? from what I gather on thing I will need a camber kit.

and if the first number is bigger does it mean the tire is fatter or what? my set of rims on my old cavalier had 215/45/17 tires on it, and I didnt have any problems with them, they werent rubber bands or anything but not huge.

pro kits are uneven on awd ? i was going to get them cause of horrible stories of other brands , on my n/t , i was riding cali style with prokit's, back end was much lower then front and drug tire even with my system out , i put the stockers in the rear , now its much better , like 1/2inch maybe higher then front and even with the system in

Are the springs installed wrong. Kinda sounds like you put the front ones in the rear and vicecersa.

It seems like most of the wierd ride height problems come from FWD. They dont drop the AWD near as much.

they only go on one way , i tried the back on the front , wouldnt match up to the strut , but i bought them used so go figure , i'll be needing a coil/strut kit for my awd, but dont know what way to go :(

Depends on your offset. Like everyone said, search even if you gotta weed through all the crap (I had to do the same and will only post a question when I absolutely can't find anything on what I am looking for). Or even better, go to Yahoo Groups and check up on the DSM Autocross mailing list and search through the archives there.
