I have gas buildup on the top threads of my spark plugs, how do I clean this properly?

well you can spray carb cleaner on ## plugs and use a wire brush to brush them off.
To get rid of the buildup in the cylinders, if thats what your trying to do, then run seafoam thru the engine.

if you have an air compressor, you could spray it off with high pressure air. or if its too bad, you could get new ones

I'd get new plugs, but these are already new. They aren't even two weeks old. I don't know what to do and my plan right now is to just keep cleaning them every three or four days until the problem is figured out.

^^^My previous thread.

Also, I took the car to a mechanic and he gave me a lot of messed up information.

1) He said he had cleaned off the spark plugs, after picking it up I drove it about .1 miles to another parking lot and checked the spark plugs, weren't cleaned.

2) He gapped all the plugs above .45 because he said that's what his manual called for.

3) He said my spark plugs are the wrong ones (I have BPR6ES). He then said that the best for my car would be the Platinums because they can maintain the heat.

4) He said that another problem might be that my engine is a 92' and the ignition system is from a 95'.

5) He said that it was stupid to remove the balance shaft and that racers do it to get the extra 3hp but my engine will only last around 10k miles now.

Yeah, I know. He's the second mechanic I've gone to that has given me extremely wrong information. The first mechanic said that my engine idle and rumble, which is intermittent, is because the balance shaft was removed.

Wow. That's all I can say...other than if I had to deal with people like that I'd be completely livid. And if you get chance, maybe update your profile a bit...at least to let us know what car it is. I will, however, take a chance and guess that it's a dsm.
