I have a 96 talon tsi awd, couldn't start it for a while, found out that the clutch position switch is off. i was wondering how to adjust it?

Just remove the thing all together. It is very easy to do. search the FAQ or DIY for a writeup as I do not know how different it may be for your car vs my GVR4

A little off topic but thats how I ended up with my 90 talon for $500. The owner couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start, got frustrated, and unloaded the car for cheap.

I towed it home and had it started in about 10 minutes by unplugging the switch.

From my understanding, unless you are going to run no lift to shift with ECMLINK/DSMLINK, you don't really need that sensor. Mine is just unplugged...I didn't bother adjusting

To really answer the question, the switch threads in and out. First you make sure that the rubber bumper on the pedal isn't missing or worn out, make sure the switch isn't broken, then you adjust it by releasing the locking nut and turning the switch.
