How Can I Do Free Mods On This.....

Ok, sense my hand has is getting better (broke it) decided to go out and attempt to do the free mods, but taking a good look at the intake system i notice my air filter area wasnt the same as ones the free mod were done to. Then i opened the Haynes manual and confirmed it.

heres what i have, has any one seen this before..... its says HKS on it also...

no air filter was present also, just the net type with a screw onw holding it down, there was a like removable fitler part but as soon as i unscrew the screw on, it just tore/fell apart

that last pic shows the silencer is still in there you could take that out

Although I may be wrong. If the filter material part just fell apart, not so sure id want that anywhere near my intake.

yeah, thats exactly it.....

Im gona try to contact Machv and see if theres a way i can get a replacement filter. i didnt know it was worth that much (didt really pay it any attention when i poped the hood to inspect the engine compartment, hand was broke when i brought the car....).

EWWWW those filters are NASTY they don't catch CRAP yea they flow good but I wouldn't risk it with that crap. Go get a nice K&N filter and mount that puppy up there

At least you know the previous owner wasnt cheap cause those filters are pretty expensive.

Yes that thing is definitly expensive.

I wouldnt trust it being it fell apart, which means it could fall apart and fly through the intake pipe and...well we all know what happens next.

Id suggest the first mod to the intake be a k&n filter...although unless you get lucky, you wont find one for free.

i think it fell apart because it was worn. I dont know how long it was on there but its the black stuff next the the HKS box in one of he pics........it wasnt even green anymore...

thats what paul told me, dont get one, cuz it costs a lot, and your turbo sucks in those little peices of foam and kills itself.... stick to K&N
