There's no such animal that I'm aware of. You can get Serial -> USB adapters, but not the other way around ( I know it sounds stupid, but there's a lot more involved than just adapting pins, there are special IC's that are designed to control the USB signal and convert it.) USB by nature has a powered pin, which is used to power some USB devices - this pin is used to power the circuit and IC's that adapt the usb signal to an outgoing serial signal. Serial connections do not have a powered pin, so you can't power an adapter. I don't even think they make IC's to convert it the other way. Sorry bro.

Thanks for the info. let me rephraise my question then. How do I connect anything higher than m105, which comes with USB hotsync cradle, to the serial port in order to use the mmcd data logging software. (mmcd requires a com1-com4 interface) I'm sure there's a way sice all these new palms were listed as compatible on the mmcd website. Maybe I'm not asking the right questions.

They make serial hotsync cables for them. They can typically be found for >$15.00. There's a ton of them on ebay: http://search.ebay.com/palm-serial_W0QQfnuZ1

Hope that helps.

update: Received the cable and it's a palm serial modem cable, not a hotsync cable. It has a male 9pin serial port to accept a serial modem to the palm. Anyone out there using a m500 series to log, please help. Thanks.

oldman,
did you ever get that m500 working. i have one and it definately wont work with the adaptors i have on.
