Okay,

An 06 Evo hp is 286@2500 Rpm's... right.... That's the "Flywheel"??? Right???
What is it ACTUALLY to the Wheel???

Is there a rule, or how much HP should you subtract off to get the correct HP to the Wheel?

And is every HP spec listing in all cars to the Flywheel???

Just a newbie question.... trying to get real Horsepower numbers.....

I have seen in the back of Import Tuner magazine, where they show a stock EVO awhp and then slightly mod it and show how much hp gains there are. When they dyno'd the stock Evo I believe it pushed out 248awhp-274 tq. This is in the feb. 06 issue of Import Tuner.

Apparently that guy is pretty accurate, because most of them dyno around 240-250awhp.

But please don't ever go by OEM power ratings. The Evo VIII is rated like 25lb/ft less torque than the STi and yet the STi only puts down like 2lb/ft more torque at the wheels. GM rates the Ion Redline at 200hp... my friend's put down 226whp bone stock. An EK Civic Si is rated at like 170hp and only puts down whp in the high 120's. The examples are endless if you just look around.

It all goes hand in hand with the bench racing done by the moronic readers of mags like Motor Trend and Car & Driver. If someone doesn't have an actually dyno chart for their actual car, they have no business telling anyone how much power it makes.

Thank you. You summed up my gripe concisely.
