Hope it's not my syncros

Ok. so My car has been grinding a little going into second gear and in first when i come from reverse. i adjusted the master cylinder rod under the dash and i just shimmed the pivot ball. Could it be anything else other than syncros

You can try changing the bushings on the cables to stiff bearings, but thats a DSM flaw 1-2 syncros!

I already did the skateboard bearing mod. And i forgot to mention it in my original post but i checked the adjustment at the shifter. so i guess i need a new tranny huh

Have you checked your slave cyl for leakage? How far does it move when you press the clutch in?

Before i shimmed the clutch it would move til it was about 1/16 of an inch from the square hole the fork sits in. i figured maybe it was hitting something inside so i shimmed it. I haven't been able to check since i shimmed it. Ima do that today.

Sounds to me like it is the transmission but there is a possibility that your shifter cables may be worn.

Sounds like there could be air in the system did you recently bleed it?
or could be a leak somewhere check if your low on fluid.

idk what to tell u but im having somewhat the same problem but i dont grind gears mines just really hard to get into 2nd from a high rpm just started two days ago but i havent gotten around to checking the fluid yet. Could the fluid b a big difference cause i had a crx that didnt hold fluid worth shit and had no problems??

I had this for the first thousand miles of my breakin. I changed out the GM syncromesh for some Redline oil and voila. Fixed for me. Along with having soild shifter bushings. Hope that helps.

Yeah i think i will try new fluid I have some cheap crap in it. And i have solid bushings now (theyre skateboard bearings).

Which fluid do you guys suggest. Redline, ATF 4, or??????

Shep recommends Redline Mt-90.
It has worked well for many dd cars.

Ok. I think i will get some of that and see what happens. I hope it fixes it.

Right now I think it has some cheap shit from autozone in it because me and my brother had to pull the tranny a few times.

One of the most common problems on 1g dsms that is overlooked is the clutch pedal assm.. mine was doing the same thing until i sent my pedals to shep.

what goes wrong with the clutch pedal assembly. I adjusted the rod under the dash that goes to the master cylinder. What else could be wrong with it?

i had thias problem and it was my fork on the tranny it was a little bent and i replaced ity and its fine same symstoms as yours try that.

Hmmm. Maybe it is my clutch assembly. But when i push the clutch the pedal the slave cylinder pushes the clutch fork til it almost hits the tranny. Isn't that enough?

It could be pushing it to far ??? the easiest way to tell if the assm. is bad is to push the clutch pedal in, and if if doesnt come the Whole way back on its own ... Its bad

Well the clutch pedal comes back the whole way on it's own. I think that my syncros are shot.
