im building a 2.0 hx 40 35+ psi weekend driver 8250 redline 272 280 or 288 cams

Well op, i am going to have my bep .70 ar on an stm t3 manifold at the end of the month, ill let you know what spool i get with my 272s i plan on 40 psi also but i dont have the injectors for it right now (pte1000's) so ill have to settle at like 33. 28psi=88.3 idc so i got a bit more to go habah

Gsc s2 Is what I would get, don't go to cheap if your going to be making good power with that turbo.

I'm runnin a HX40 on a built 2liter also. My HX40 has BEP 70ar housing that's T3 flange in 3" V-Band out and that hothousing is ported to holly hell. The cold side of my HX40 is upgraded 7blade 62mm wheel with huge aftermarket polished compressor cover. I run direct port water/meth injection so I can run a everyday 35-36PSI boost. For cams, I had Crower 272's and upgraded to Brian Crower 280's. I'm currently on 280* cams (degreed on adjustable sprockets of course) and man, ill be honest with, I'm wishin I woulda went 288's. With a huge intake mannifold and a big gnarly turbo header with a HX40 at over 30PSI, its a top-end-ness kinda set up anyhow.... duh. I personally have the modified HX40 and I've done 272 and 280. Wasted money twice... shoulda got 288's to begin with...

I ran both Delta HKS 272 Regrinds and Delta Kelford 272's on new billets with my BEP T3 HX-40 on a Redjack Racing T3 manifold. I saw 40psi around 5500...the car was FAST. Real fast. I did a majority of my driving on the Delta HKS 272's, including my 10.33 @ 136.8. I was running 36-37 psi on that pass. On 40 psi and the Delta Kelford 272's, the car was an absolute monster. I could not keep traction down the track in 1st and 2nd gears. It spun a little in 3rd too.

originally i was going with the 288s ill be runing cams gears dialed in as well as e 85 1650s redjack manifold and magnus intake mani and illbe having an 8500 redline 1mm ferra valves extreme port and polish head build 6 bolt bottom end with 10.0.1 compression

stock 2.0 with just a set of bc272s in the stock head
hx40 in a bolt on housing
made 40psi by 5200-5300

car moved pretty good

on my old build ran bc 272 on 20 g saw 26 psi by 4000 dynoed at 360ish wheel give or take i dont remember exact number mustang dyno conservative tune switched to bc 280s 9it was a good deal straight up trade with a friend cause he switched his to a dd) picked up alot of topend and picked up i believe it was 10 or 12 more horses
not gona run bcs again
either gsc crower (not brian crower) or kelfords no regrinds and no hks too much money not worth it

@ mark from what ive heard 272 is a good dd cam
on a side note i dont mean to be a dick but can people stop jacking my thread

I am confused as to why spool numbers are the main reason for picking a camshaft? The Kelford 280s would be a better choice for the boost levels and rev.

@viperlp01 thank you thats what i was looking for dont worry youll see this car at force engineering soon for tuning and some work

Whatever you do, dont get BC cams. They have proven themaelves to be a lesser quality cam and do not make power like others do. Get you some 272 kelfords or GSC's. Be sure to build your head before doing so and get adjustable cam gears to PROPERLY install them. 288 cams is overkill for any DD.

Your crazy, can i see a log of this.

tune was junk but i was really upset at my 30 12.00 passes

looks like i under-exaggerated. wasn't seeing full boost till 6k. also i use a two stage boost controller set for 15lbs in first and second and then flip it to kill between 2nd and third.

and now the car is all cut up being awd swapped using a ford 8.8 in the back

on this pass (my last pass) my fuel rail came loose and cyl 1 wasn't getting any fuel for idk how long. lost that cylinder (cracked ringlands bad)

Please elaborate a little more with proof when giving a negative opinion. Cam Test

I could care less about keltalon's testing.. he is hardly an unbiased source, and quick to argue rather than accept evidence as seen in other threads.. like with the "1.3sec 60' full weight 16G car on street tires" red-lighting on video LOL

Still no idea why some people are riding his nuts..

Now as far as documented BC Cam issues? Ask the people pulling low vacuum, even on the "BC272s," when installed straight up out the box.. among other problems.

Quality Control is poor, its part of why the price is so much lower than everyone else. Which is a shame because his dad seems to have higher standards.

The base circle run out alone is so much that I would not recommend them to people I dislike LOL

This is the BC0114 -
