that exhaust looks really good. why not. buy the muffler and then get custom piping done. it should be allot cheaper and it would be a true pipe size all the way back.

I have it, and it sounds as good as it looks.

For $600, it's a good price. I got it for more since it was a year ago. I took it out when I smogged and it I never had the chance to put it back. One day I will. LOL

I would go with the Megan though. It's essentially identical w/o the bling muffler.

You pay for the sexiness.

If I could do it again, I would have bought something that costs less. Alas, I was young and demanded that it not look like every other car around here.

Now the muffler is the best looking part of my car ROFL

I have the HKS Carbon/Ti exhaust on my 98 GSX and all I have to say is...OH MY GOD! At idle it has a very low growl but when you open it up...oh so sexy it is! Everyone told me to go with the APEXi N1... Please...I would rather not have a high pitched, loud as hell, obnoxious Honda sounding exaust (no offense to the N1 owners) on my DSM. If you get the HKS Carbon/Ti system you will NOT regret it. The only exhaust I would rather own is one of the full titanium systems for weight purposes.

Hey guys, does anyone know if there is a difference in the gs-t and gsx piping on that exhaust. I know that the gs-t exhaust is only 2.5" and the gsx piping is full 3". But I'm wanting to know if I ordered the gsx exhaust for my gs-t will it fit? I want the full 3" and I really love this exhaust. Thanks :dsm:

You could buy a full turboback for 600 bucks. You could damn near build yourself 3 systems for that much. Like stated above its all about "HKS" with the carbonfiber and the "torched" tip. Most mufflers sound very similar to each other.

The GSX version has bigger diameter piping and is a straight-thru design. It follows the stock piping but has no bends.

The GST version, like stock, bends around. You will not be able to fit the GSX piping into your GST.

HKS carbon Ti is a great exhaust, probably the best looking one too, with a 3inch down pipe and a 3inch test pipe it sounds like sex. The only thing I dont like about it is that where it connects to the cat is slims down to 2.5inch or so... I cut mine and had a 3inch section put in with a flange so its completely 3 inch.

so in order to get a HKS Carbon-TI exhaust and a downpipe, you need to get a custom flange? Otherwise no downpipes will fit hte exhaust??????

I have the hks carbon ti with apexi Gt dp and i love it,i dont know how it sounds casue of my damm 02 dump, which is coming off soon. I just had the guy cut the ends of the catback and dp and weld it, My car is going back on the road in a few weeks so i will make a better clip.

If you want 3 inch piping just buy the muffler and go to your local exhaust shop and have them put it on with three in piping, it give you better flow and hurts less on the pocket.

I'm still sorta new to DSMs... but where would you find it for $600? I've only been looking around for parts for like 2 weeks now and only have like 2 online stores I've been price checking... haha... any links would be awesome!! Thanks!!

I did the same thing, but i used a 3" resonator. I wanted to make sure I was going to have the same sound and I didn't want it to be loud. I bought mine used, so all in all I ended up paying about $350-$400

Its just an image thing really, like a cf hood. The cf wrap is just for looks and the titanium muffler is just that, just the muffler. Seems like a waste of money to me
