I wanted to buy the HKS Adjustable Cam gears, but unsure what to do... I have a 96 gsx with a 6-bolt engine. Stock cams so I dont think it will make a difference. Will I need to get the engine tuned for the gears? Or do they come pre-setup for bolt on and go? Basically I'm asking if they come lined up and ready to be put on with no hassle?

Thanks in return

Ok thanks, thats all I needed to know. I will not be purchasing them then.

Wrong answer as far as adjustable cam gears go. You can purchase them (if you'd like) and install them zeroed out like a set of stock cam pulleys would be installed. If you do plan on upgrading your camshafts later on then you will already have them, however unless you enjoy doing things twice I'd hold off on installing the pulleys until you're ready to put your cams in. Don't let someone else's opinion dictate your decision though, use your own judgement with your vehicle or else you won't be happy with the final product. But if you don't plan on any valvetrain adjustments, definitely spend that money on something worthwhile that you'll benefit from.

How is that the wrong answer? You just gave him the same answer in a more opinionated manner. But ok..

Actually I gave him a correct and unopinionated answer, not a false one telling him he will have to get his stock cams "tuned" to run adjustable cam pulleys. If you're going to turn this thread into a cyber-brawl over something this retarded ill be happy to retract my previous statement and agree with the earlier post that yes, he will indeed need to get his stock cams tuned for his adjustable cam pulleys. THAT would be what the wrong answer is. I wasn't calling anyone an idiot, or trying to call out any crybabies, just stating the obvious that NO, u dont have to have any tuning or degreeing done to run stock cams with adjustable pulleys. Just install them zeroed out. But ok...
