So I am thinking about spending some of my tax return on a new hood. Thing is I can't decide what I want to do here. In the past I was thinking about getting a CF hood and having a body shop paint it to match the car as well.

Considering the price difference does anyone know if there is that much weight to be lost by going with CF over fiberglass? Either way both are lighter than our stock heavy ass hood.

a few options

A. Fiberglass hood from Frankscustomfiberglass, and paint it to match the car (most affordable option I think)

B. CF hood from Hirev

C. CF hood from Frankscustomfiberglass

D. CF hood w/pant

I would just go with a carbon fiber hood unpainted depend on what color of your car is but it should look good on any color.

Most carbon fiber hoods are basically fiberglass hoods with a carbon fiber overlay on it. Since you have a red car, get a fiberglass one and have it painted to match your car. IMO carbon fiber hoods on any color expect black, look fugly.

I've seen the HiRev hoods and other carbon fiber parts. They are great quality, especially for the price you are paying from them. Some of the guys here run their products on personal cars, so we truly believe in their stuff. Both quality and customer service are second to none.

I say go with a cf hood from a local shop if there is one in your area. You can find them cheaper then from the people you have listed.

This would benefit someone who lives in SoCal because most bodykits, cf products and such are made there. I remember in one of our CF Threads you mention bout GTFab. GTFab is our distributor and we work with their manufacturer

I remember you also mention about pricing, well the price listed with GTfab doesn't include tax or the shipping which is roughly~$130-$150 extra or more on top of the actual price, to anyone out of SoCal. Don't think those are the final prices on their site so considering that...our prices are actually low because shipping is already included in our prices but we do charge $30 for a molding shipping box so it doesn't get damage.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback :rocks:
