Probably none, its a Toyota. :thumb:

Yeah, for real.

I used to work in the finance office at a Toyota dealership and they had an old rusted-to-crap Corrola in the showroom for a few months that had over 1 million miles on it.....ODO had rolled back to 000000 and started over. LOL. The poor thing looked like hell though. Toyota and Nissan both make a damn good engine (reliability-wise).

My uncles 1986 s-10 Chevy was retired (engine still running but body rusted away) with 1,200,000 kms which is around 700,000 miles for all you down south.

Damn....y'all have some high-ass mileage cars, LOL....

A guy I used to work with had an old '80s model Toyota Corolla with almost 500K, if I remember correctly. Not sure how many engines that thing had gone through though...

But my GSX has a little over 80K on the body, and less than 9K on the engine :thumb: CARFAX report says she averages under 5K miles per year, since she was bought. She was never a daily driver, I guess...From 1996 to now, she's only put on like 15-20K, though. Someone was either too broke to fix her, or too lazy to drive her..... ;)
80% of all Toyota Corollas ever made are still on the road:thumb:

91 GSX 2nd rebuilt engine 10k chassis 161K.
90 Toyota Celica 398K Org. Engine and Auto Tranny. BOBY COMPLETE CRAP. THE WINTER BEATER GOTTA LOVE IT. Now thats a Toyota for you run forever no leaks no burnin oil its insane. i'm 2nd owner previous bein my dad.

I have 264000 km on chassis and about 105000 km on the motor in my 90 tsi. Odometer in my truck (GMC 4x4) stoped working about 3years ago with 280000 km never been touched, must have at least 350 on it now.

80k Original Miles on my '91 & it won't be gaining more than 10k total in the next 4 years. :sneaky:

Looked at your pics...........and I have to say one of the most beautiful DSM's I ever seen

No lie

I saw a guy with 245K run 11's at the shootout a few years back.

It was claimed that it was the original motor.

No shit, its a 1g :thumb:

in all seriousness, any 1g with a clean paintjob is a supurb car. Just see mine in real life gives me goose bumps every time.

harry still has a REALLY clean car. don't let anything I said take away from its beauty.

DSM007 and tstkl, thanks for the compliments!

I will have new pictures up in a few weeks with the car looking much, MUCH better. Full suspension (AGX and H&R combo) will be going on the car to lower it finally as well as an extensive end of winter wax and polish session, photos will definitely be posted.

Alright people. Who has the highest mileage for a 1G? Doesn't matter if it's had 1 engine or 20. Highest chassis mileage wins!! I'll set the bar high.

311,227 miles :thumb:

Damn, You did set that bar a little high! :thumb:

Our '90 model (1.9l) NT currently has 260k on it. It still has the stock (OEM) tranny, computer, engine, distributor, fuel pump. This car is our daily driven, 'factory freak'. It just will not stop... :dsm:

Our '90 model (2.0l) NT has 175k on the chassis and bottom half of the engine but has a bunch of 124k parts 'sprinkled' here and there to help it out a little. This car looks pretty fair since our rebuild. It just needs a little body work to be pristene overall. The wife will be driving this on until she gets sick of it!

When it comes to cars that actually CAN go for a pile-o-miles... DSM'S win every time! :dsm: (You have to own a chevy to really be able to appreciate the quality of a DSM)

Awesome thread. :thumb:

alot of dsms go down because of not putting covers back on their timing belt.;)

I think the missing timing belt and side motor mount might make him go down first :D

The really sad thing is that when we bought this DSM, ALL of the motor mounts were either entirely broken (completely separated) or had huge cracks in the rubber of the mount. :notgood:
It makes me wonder, How in the heck did the kid we bought the car from not know that something was wrong with that many broken motor mounts?

I did manage to get the expensive one (the large upper mount) for free with the spare engine that we had bought. (the guy we bought the engine from had just bought a new OEM mount before he wrecked the car) The rest of the mounts I had to buy myself...

We have just recently finished this project and I will be posting some fresh pics in another thread soon... :rocks: Thanks for looking. :thumb:

As for the timing belt cover, It ended up in the trash can (along with the cracked factory manifolds and MANY other parts that were screwed up). I can not see how this cover being gone will cause any timing belt issues. Timing belts do NOT break because you do not have this cover in place.

No but dirt and small debrise will chew it up quicker, which can lead to a T-belt failure. I dont understand why your even questioning it. Mitsu wouldn't have spent some large amount on desighning and manufactureing the cover for the belt if it had no real reason for being there.

Also this is the MOST important belt on the engine. Why take chance's and have to replace valves or worse 40k down the road?

186,xxx miles

Original engine/tranny/etc...
I did put new axles in a while back , and the original 14b is on the way out in favor of an EVO 16G ( only because its starting to develop some play )
Its my daily driver and has made numerous passes down Gainsvilles 1/4 , but compression is in the low 130's across the board and I am planing a rebuild soon.

179,869... As of 5 minutes ago...

Man, I'm a lil worried, some of these numbers are sounding like Honduhs.... OMG

But I'm glad that our lil beauties are stout.

I've got 135k, all original motor and tranny. Had about 165-170 across the board last time I checked, probably carbon build up. :) Doesn't burn any oil though.
