When I first start my car up the rpms are fine between 850-1000. If I drive around for awhile and the engine reaches normal operating temperature, the tach jumps up between 1800-2200. I can still drive but, it just gets annoying sitting at a stoplight with the rpms that high. The car is pretty much bone stock (right now.) It has 102,000 mi, new water pump, TB, hoses, belts, spark plugs and wires.

Any tips or suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

Also since you said it had a new throttle body did you change the TB gasket? Also check your vacuum lines and see if any of them are loose or torn. One more thing check your coolant level this could cause that as well or try bleeding or purging the coolant system free of any air bubbles.

TB is Timing Belt not throttle body. Sorry for any confusion.

i have a similar problem where my rpms rise and i have to rev it in order for them to drop to 1500 rpm. ill check my cooling system today. i did the vfaq check on my isc and it was all ok (screw is in all the way too). i also just rebuild my throttle body with new bushings. but was doing it before.
i dont know if it helps but i have a 1g in a 2g swap.
is their anything else that could bring the throttle down. andy ideas about the revving. could my manifold pressure sensor adjust idle cause mine is wrigged with a vacuume line.

I don't know if the turbo eclipses have this problem, but a bad throttle position sensor (TPS) is often at fault when the N/Ts get idle surge.

i just checked mine with a pentiometer so i think its fine cause i adjusted it to the 9k ohm idle
also i dont have idle surge at all its just a rediculously high idle like someone has their foot on the gas but they dont... and i checked my throttle cable. its not sticking.

i just found out that i should have a 2g throttle position sensor and i have the 3 prong 1g sensor. so ill try putting a 2g sensor on my 1g throttle body and hopefully that will give me my good idle since the 2g has the idle stopper or something like that.
