Getting taken apart and cleaned up

The “new” to me engine should be there this week!

Preparing some of the old stuff we will be reusing and getting all of the parts/bolts cleaned up.

Check the bearing. It's cheap and easy to replace while you've got it apart.

The bearings are so cheap I have several sizes in the toolbox for various things. Lawnmower etc.
That one is probably less than 10$.

Wrapping up the harness and doing a few repairs. It’s pretty crusty, so going through and checking. 2 pigtails repaired so far!

Just that much closer! Getting all the missing parts installed.

Timing belt kit on the way along with some other goodies.

Been making some good progress refreshing some things.

I was able to find every pulley/tensioner pulley I need just laying around as new extras I’ve had. Can’t wait to fire this up!

I still have to get the timing belt in and go back and remove some things, but it’s all held together so I can keep up with bolts!

Waiting on parts still! New valve cover gasket on, everything looks pretty clean!

Nothing exciting, but it’s getting much closer.

As expected, running into junky old parts.

Alternator, slave cylinder, engine mount, and some other things on order. Hope to start it up soon!

Progress has been made! Still a ton to do, but so much closer.

I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot more, but not much longer to go.

Still waiting on one of the axles and some odds and ends, but she’s driving!

Drain plug for the transmission seems to be leaking, got to fix that!

I believe this is where this thread dies.

The car is complete for the most part. O2 sensor on the way and it needs to see an exhaust shop, but she’s doing great. I’ll likely get some seat time in this car and post it for sale.

On to the next!

Of all the DSMs we have, at least this was the one to get hit… Unfortunately while parked, a large truck drove over the side of the car.

Waiting to hear from their insurance adjuster before deciding the fate of this car.
