High idle after rebuild

My engine is fresh off a rebuild and everything is back together now. when i start the car up it idles excessively high. ive made sure the throttle cable isnt too tight and the isc screw is all the way tightened. my guess is there is a boost leak but i was just wondering if a boost leak could do this. if there are any other ideas of what could make this happen let me know. Any input is appriciated.

P.S. also when i start the car the turbo is screaming. WTF

I'm having same problem mines a 2g though not sure if it makes a diff. My balance shaft is out of phase though so i thought it had something to do with that. going to fix that this upcoming week when i'm on vacation. WHOO-HOO

Sounds like you have one heck of a vacuum leak. Is everything hooked up where it's supposed to be? Like all of the vacuum lines on the throttle body where they are supposed to go? Sounds like something along the lines of the isc motor or the throttle body is acting up. Try to compare your car to another dsm and check and see where everthing hooks up(vacuum wise). BTW, when you start the car up and rev it, does there seem to be an excessive amount of vibration comming from the motor to the car? If there is, then your balance shafts would be out of phase, but I don't think that this could be the cause of your problem. Also, how is the ignition system on the car?
