High flow catalytic converters

So I've been looking around at some high flow cats. Everything looks like its made in a sweat shop and a lot with no flanges. If you search "high flow cat" on eBay, all you can find is some test pipes.

Does anyone recommend a high flow cat? Probably going to want name brand because of the insides. (3" inlet and outlet)

And what flanges am I going to need welded on with an aftermarket 3" exhaust??

A "high flow cat" doesn't even serve as a cat. Its bascially a pipe that looks like a cat. I would just go without one if your looking at something like that.

The post above isn't exactly true. Carsound make high quality cats in universal 3". The flanges can be purchased separately to fit your exhaust. Truth be told, no cat lasts very long on turbo cars, especially modded ones.

I was mainly getting at if you were to buy aftermarket cat its probably not going to perfom to factory specs. I just don't see the point in paying for a cat if your looking for performance.

I dunno where to get these cats at but, i orderd my exhaust 3in turbo back and it came with a Shultz high flow 3 inch cat. I got the exhaust system off of this guy in port royal PA, it was 3in turbo back came with the cat an a magnaflow muffler for like 425 shipped. My cat has lasted 2 years no problem. The shop was called T lane mufflers if your interested.

I good cat i would recommend is easteren catalytic converters we use there 200 cell on all of are systems. I would get a performance bullet series with 3" inlet and outlet and just have it welded in your mid pipe.

It would be rather pointless in going to a full 3" exhaust and downpipe setup and stay with the stock which I think is 2.5" or smaller.

It doesn't matter which high flow cat you go with. The performance difference will be +/- a couple of HP which you won't be able to notice.

And as I said before, use the SEARCH to find your answer. I can find at least one other forum about the high flow cat selection.

Extreme makes some good high flow cats. I have one laying around that I recently took off, and was happy with it.

Check out these hi-flow Magnaflow cats from horsepowerfreaks.com. They come without flanges and are much cheaper then getting a direct bolt on. Just get it welded on.
