HID's in E-BAY Projectors??

Alright, before i get bashed for posting something that is in many VFAQ threads, let me say this. I have looked and dont seem to see any pics of what the plug and play HID's in the EBAY projectors will look like (i realize that is not as good a result as a retrofit, but just for curiosity sake). Post your HID pics, please (preferably at night)

I bought a set off of ebay and they are bright unless used with a projector housing with a cutoff. The higher the number like 12k the more colorfull they get . The lower the number like 6k is more white and pure .

You cant fit a plug and play into the ebay projectors i've seen (or have). They use an H1 bulb just like our foglights. The balast will not allow the HID bulb to fit because of the shield thing inside has just enough room for the H1 which is much shorter.

You need different balasts.

I'd have to say that you're wrong on this one dude. HID kits on ebay comes with any type of bulbs that you want. If you buy a set of ebay projectors for your eclipse the low beam will be H1 and the high beam will be H3. You would need to just buy a HID kit and make sure that you tell them you want it with H1 bulbs. How do I know all this....because my brother did the same thing. I would not recommend it though because there is still alot of glare. I would recommend you get your headlights retrofitted the proper way (costly) like someone said above. Here's a pic of my brother's accord with the setup, he has H3 low beams AND NOTICE THE GLARE.

Actually our fog lamp uses a H3(stock fog lamp) does anyways. I haven't seen any yet with H3 for the high beam they have been H1 low and H1 high. The question is our stock plugs are for 9006 and 9005. Now if he tells the guy he needs for a H1 bulb wouldn't the plug be made to fit and stock H1 plug?? Now will it be possible to tell him you have a H1 bulb but with a 9006 plug. That's the only problem I see unless that already know what to do.

The only real way to get a true HID system on your car is to do a retrofit. This involves using the projector lenses from a D2S HID system (found on many cars now) and fitting them into your eBay projector housings. I have done it both ways and found that the 'HID kit' was a load of crap. It gave the color, but not the light output. I gave in and purchased Lexus RX330 projectors and attached it wo Acura TSX clear lenses and absolutely love the results. Light output is 100% seemless and even with a clean cut-off.

Retrofits are the only way to go, eBay HID kits are for people that only want the color of HID.

Trust me, you will be way happier with an OEM retrofit.

BLACKGSX2G: where did you come across RX330 projectors?? i have been searching here for TSX / 3-series / A4-A6 / 5-series projectors and come out with nothing. I dont really want to do a plug and play kit but i am at a loss

I haven't seen any yet with H3 for the high beam they have been H1 low and H1 high.

I ran the E-bay projectos for a while in an old Talon and had the problem of the bulbs burning out pretty quick due to the heat. I drilled small holes in the housing to vent the hot air out.

I might have just received bad bulbs though and not known it.

Jeez people are so quick to flame....
And the only HID bulbs I've ever seen were longer than H1's, and guess what, I do own a car with HID's........... supprise, bum bum bummmm
Edit: see it wont fit because its to long. Thats why you need to change the balasts

I've done this. I used the projectors lke the pic posted above me. I have pics in my profile but they aren't aimed right. Here are some new ones though, I used OEM bmw ballasts, projectors, and bulbs.:
