Hello,
I recently bought that XTUNE 3" GSX Cat-back on eBay. The flanges on it between the cat are 2.5".
I have an old hi-flow cat I originally bought for my Eclipse RS but the flanges didn't line up correctly because the seller said it was for a 95-99 NT Eclipse but I guess it wasn't if it obviously didnt line up. (yeah I was pissed after jacking up my car and breakin' the cat bolts to find out it didn't fit)
Anyways, I was wondering is there an actual difference between DSM turbo and non-turbo cats besides the flange alignments? I'm hoping that this cat was actually meant for a turboed Eclipse and the flanges line up, but if not I'll just borrow my neighbors welder and re-align a flange on the cat so it would fit this XTUNE catback.
Yeah I know I should just get a cat eliminator downpipe but that would require me to buy a new 3" flange and weld it onto the XTUNE piping after the cat. I have this cat laying around so I thought I'd just utilize it in someway until I feel like doing a full 3" turboback upgrade.
What this really all sums up to is me asking: Is there any downfalls using a cat designed for a non turbo application on a turbo application?
