So I just put my new o2 sensor on in bank one idles perfect. I go to rev it up and it spits and sputters till 3000 then clears up. There is backfiring out of the throttle body and idk what to do? This 420a seems to be quite the money pit. I have installed a junkyard motor with 90000 miles car ran great. Fuel system went out 3 weeks later then I installed a fuel pumP fuel filter fuel pressure regulator and an o2 sensor and it is yet to cure my problem :( any ideas guys?

Could be bad gas, wiring, sensors, pick one and rule out one thing at a time. AGain plugs, wires, coil, ecu check them out.

I just did plugs and wires just took it out it's running better I hit 4 th gear no power at all tho ima double check everything tomorow see if I can pinpoint the issue it's not back firing anymore so that's a plus

The 420a's arn't moneypits if maintained. The biggest thing is going through and doing a full DIY inspection (compression, fuel pressure, voltage readings, ect) and get it running nice when you get it. From there its a breeze. Its more time then most want to spend on a car, but then again most people don't want to spend time on anything anymore.

Anywho, have to rule out one thing out at a time. I don't have the ideas because I have never had this issue. The backfire I'd say is a bit bigger issue. Pump out old and put in new 87 gas, check your spark plugs and look at them and see if there's anything odd. Check compression while at it. Possibly the ISC.
