Saturday and sunday I worked on changing my oil pan gaskets and I got done sunday afternoon.. When I started up the car blue smoke came out of the exhaust and when I pressed the gas more came out... but when I drove it around no smoke came out at everything was okay and this morning I started the car up and the same thing but when I drove to school nohting came out and when I parked at school no smoke came out... what could it be?? Im doing compression test tomorrow
When you shut the car off the oil runs down into the combustion chamber and that's what gives you that puff of smoke upon startup usually. Sometimes bad valve stem seals will also give you a puff of smoke as you take off after idling for a few minutes like at a red light etc.
