ok so ive just thrown my new motor in my gsx and when i go to turn the key on i get no check engine light, now oil pressure light, and no battery light. i do have the battery relocated to the trunk could this be a lack of ground.... please give me some input thank you very much.

The ground point for the battery has to tie into the same common ground. It has to have a good tie in at all the chassis points. A roll cage give me this tie from a rear bat. to the front of the unibody where the engine is in my falcon hotrod. I ran dedicated grounds on the talon from the body/frame/battery/engine just to make sure it runs good. If you run an approved cutout for racing, it has to be wired into the charging system too.
I see an easy fix. Just get all the wiring up to snuff. A fishy ground potential can give the ecm fits and even death. Good luck and Merry Christmas. Tres....

awesome thank you for your help i have a idea of what i havent done. im gonna give it a try and go from there thanks for all your input. merry christmas to you to!!

When i did my relocation, I had a 0/1 awg wire running from the battery to the trunk, all i did was move the battery to the trunk, grounded it with 0/1 wire in the trunk.

Then hooked up the wire thats under the hood now, to the alternator wire and other power wires that were on the battery postive when it was under the hood.

Then i ran another 0/1 gauge wire from the firewall to the engine....Then that was it. Thats called a big 3 in car audio terms. Like someone said above though, I usually like my engine grounded to the firewall, and the battery ground to another spot on the fire wall directly, so they share a common ground...But, the trunk produces a good enough ground, Also, i use many grounds to protect from surges..

Also make sure you have a 100 amp fuse somewhere down the + wire. Just for surges.
