What bearings are you referring too? Can you describe the size and shape, a picture will get you an answer fast when you get one up.

a picture would be best for us to tell you where they go. did you get them from the parts store? if so what did they tell you they were? any info would help us out.

They are king bearings standard size. Ordered them offline for a 1992 6bolt 4g63 turbo motor (machinst said get standard the crank wasn't bad). I know which way the girdles go on. I got my oil squirters back in. Ive gotten my pistons togther since they are floating pins there was no need for a press. Now I'm at getting the main bearings into the block. They just set down into the block. Half of the main bearings I have. Have a channel in them. From what I understand the one with the channels in them. Set into the block and the smooth ones go on the girdle side. Correct? Then the 2 thrust bearings go on the middle or number 3 main correct? And for some reason its still not wanting to let me upload pics

That bearing is all the way pushed in. Its not suppose to have those triangle shaped gaps at the end? Is it? I figured they should meet flush

if you look at the were the thrust bearing in the picture there is a groove on the block it self where the shoulder of the thrust bearing were sit into. and if you look at the picture with the other bearing there isn't a grove in the block. I am replacing my king bearings as well and mine didn't sit flush with each other on the ends.

I see....it seems a bit counter-intuative to have that. seem liks the edges would eat into the crank shaft. I found half of my old thrust washer set. It was flat on the end like 90 degree and looks as it it would fit flush on the end unlike my new king bearings. And I see you have a 2g combs-dsm. Which I'm assuming is a 7 bolt. I'm working on a 1g 6 bolt would that make a difference? Sorry if I'm being paranoid and asking too many questions or vauge questions. I come from the land of pushrod 5.0 mustang engines this is all unfamiliar territory.

Yes i have a 7 bolt, but would be pretty sure that the triangle would be the same depending on brand of bearings. King bearings may just come like that. I just know that the king bearings i pulled out did not meet flush like a 90 degree as well. As long as they are flush were the block half meet the girdle half of the bearing you should be ok. Since thats what your crank rides on. And if you havent heard of this yet when you do put your crank in. You should go with a gridle plate

Ok I guess I'll go clean everything up and get some assembly lube. Thanks man. I've been worrying about that all night. But if you don't mind me asking real quick what forced you to perform a rebuild on your motor?
