So i just got my pc datalogger serial cable. I went to try to hook it up to my laptop to find that the cable is a male serial cable and my laptop has only a male serial port. So what should i do to get this to work? Can i just get some sort of adapter?

I think an adapter should work.

Sounds like you got a Palm serial datalogger cable, instead of one for a laptop. Just get a DB9 male/male adapter. Works the same after that point.

Well i went to staples and found a female-female null modem cable and it works perfectly also extends the measly 3 feet i got witht he pda cable.
