okay so i get in my car tonight and turn the headlights on and go to start it and nothing. so i try again and nothign then i noticed that the headlights were off so i went and checked the battery. after messing with the battery cables a bit the lights came on. then it started right up, but when i was driving home everytime i stopped it would drop down to like 300 rpm and almost stall then bounce between 500-1k rpm.

It has never done this before tonight. any help would be greatly apperciated.

Sorry for the novel but i like to be thorough :)

okay it did the same thing today but this time when i stopped for red lights it dropped down to 200 rpm and stayed there. it was also more difficult to start this morning the last night.

i just thought of something. with the car being as dead as it is could the ecu be resetting its self and could that cause the crappy idle?

when i checked the battery by hitting the jumper cables together it had no spark then like 45 seconds later when i tried it again it sparked then started.

Clean your battery terminals with a wire brush. Score the connectors with a knife or similar on the inside. Sounds like you're getting a poor connection.

And yes, if the ECU isn't getting power consistently it'll idle and run like poo and want to die.
