NA,
Hi guys,
I did a HKS 264/264 cam install on my car this weekend, and now the thing barely idles!!! My timing is ok. I try to adjust my idle and play with fuel pressure and nothing has any effect. Sometimes it dies when you push in the clutch (almost like surging/missing). Also, the car starts intermittently missing between 3000 and 4000 rpm cruising only. WOT is fine. What's the deal?

272/272 is where you get the crap idle. They suggest 264/272 to give it a better idle than the full out 272/272. The more aggressive cams will give you a little bit of a lumpy idle, but maybe there's another reason for it like the ISC.

Hopefully somebody who has done this mod will come along and give you a solution. I can only suggest.

Ok here is the deal, idle is surging (up/down) and missing while idling/cruising, o2 sometimes slow to cycle, timing goes up and down. Timing is perfect, plug wires new. I did a compression check and my #2 spark plug was fouled (looked like carbon+oil)????

sounds like either one or both cams are out of time. I had a similar problem that never really showed itself until I installed my fmic. Ive had a small random miss at idle since my rebuild and coolant temps were a little high. After the fmic, the car would miss and stutter violently from 5k rpm and up. I replaced my coil pack and that seem to cure it for about a week and then it started again. After checking everything, I pulled my timing belt cover and found that my exhaust cam was 1 tooth off. Seeing that you didnt have this problem until you changed cams, I would bet that the timing belt is what you should be looking at. You say timing is perfect but is that ignition timing or cam timing that you are talking about?
