hey , i just bought my boost gauge and i install it my self , i got it hook up with a t fitting , i cut the hose that is really small and comes from the intake mainfold to the bov , the boost reads from 0- 30 down and it says vacumm and 0 - 30 up and says boost , when i turn on the car the gauge goes down and it reads around 20 to 30 down but when i race the car the is when goes up , how do i know how much boost i am running and please tell me if i did it correctly so that i can get a boost controller and raise my boost and how much can i raise it to. thanks

srry about the writing but its just that i dont know how to explain , can it read 20 or just a little more from 20 from vaccumm but how do i know how much boost i am running , i know that when i am driving the car and i squezz it as much as i can i get around 12 and two or three more lines after 12 , it that the boost i am running , and how can i get more boost .

Yes whatever it is reading is how much boost you are running. From what you are saying it sounds like you put the boost gauge where the boost controller goes. The boost gauge goes on the right side of the engine. If you have it working i guess don't worry about it but you may have to move it if you hook up a boost controller.

Boost potential is all about the make, turbo, and year DSM you are running.

AND  this is not an accurate source to work with....

If you are indeed stock and you are asking about how to hook up a boost gauge, let alone how to read it then you should change it so as not to get flamed by the guys on the board. It will just help you get more help from guys that have been around. They typically don't help when they see this type of stuff. ;)
