help tranny overfill plug?

Today i checked my tranny fluid and it was bone dry, hardly on the tip of the dipstick while piping hot and having been run through all gears and placed in neutral. So i go hey it probably needs at least a quart of fuild, i go and buy one and put in it. It filled it up to the middle of hot and cold on the dipstick so im thinking it could use even another quart. after eating lunch i go outside and get ready to go buy another quart and as i move the car theres a giant puddle 4 ft across of tranny fluid under the car. The leak is coming directly in middle of the tranny pan. Theres some kind of hole with foam type plastic around it as if it's an overfill plug location without the plastic plug there? Wtf happened?

theres no way this is an overfill plug, it's leaked out at least 2 quarts now. Still at a drip per second. im thinking it might be some kind of patch for the pan or something.

I finally figured out that it wasn't some kind of plug gasket around the hole, turns out it's a dime sized puncture hole on the pan that some jackass tried fixing by unloading a tube of rtv onto. Too cold tonight to get out the welder, but who would go and waste a tube of rtv and take the time to let it set instead of just straight up taking 2 minutes to buzz on an easy weld job? well my 8 month mysterious tranny problem is finally solved , checking fluid properly and making sure no holes are in the oil pans are a must on my future checklist of tranny problems.
