help-swapped motors and have stupid issues

Ok so the story is i spun a bearing in my old engine so swapped it with a engine my friend had. So now my car is all put together and runs and drives. this leads to my issues, first is my lights all the lights including cluster, pods, and headlights go dim under hard acceleration. second is that once the engine is up to temp the idle goes up to three grand, and it stays there it doesnt idle down. third is that around five grand it cuts out.

Any ideas would be helpful

Anyways....take you car to get the charging system tested because that might be the electrical issue. And with the rest of your issues, did you try to adjust the idle once it's at temp? Did you check for boost leaks? How much boost are you running? Still using stock injectors? Are you sure everything is hook back up properly?

Get the electrical fixed and that might change some other stuff too it might be cutting because the ecu isnt getting enough power or the fuel pump might not be keeping up because lack of power also. Lots of things but id start with the electrical aspect.

Ok, i fixed the headlights. It was a loose ground on the altenator. I still have a high idle when the engine is up to temp. How do i perform a boost leak test.
