HELP sputtering popping and wont go over 3300 rpm

please help ,1995 gs-t with 60 trim 6 bolt, i have no clue what is wrong, i bought the car non running had to put a head on it and that was it, so i did it this weekend timing is right on but after the first startup there was oil out of the turbo oil feed line so i looked under there and the steel braded line rubed threw the alternator wires and melted all those and burnt those up. so i fixed the oil feed line and disconected all the wires to the alternator so no fires,
anyway the car starts but will backfire and pop and wont go over 3300 rpm blows black smoke and you can smell the fuel its just pouring,
but any ideas on what this could be?

okay just tried new plugs wires are brand new, and boost leak test was also done yesterday its really stumping me
 
Well, black smoke = fuel.

Check your FPR, plugs, wires, timing.
For the 6-bolt, how was your crank sensor wired? was it just taken out?
Is the afc not tuned right?
Check for a leaking BOV.
Do another BLT jsut for peace of mind, unless it passed with flying colors. Holds 20-30psi for 30 seconds then starts leaking slowly.
 
did a boost leak test and held 24 psi for a good 30 seconds , new plugs and fuel is set at 43 psi anyone think it could be the coil? possibly or any other ideas?
 
okay well i figred all that out after changing the cas and coil packs , it ran good until it got warm then i would press the gas and the rpm's wouldent go up at all any ideas?
 
sounds to me like a timing issue of some sort. Instead of thinking timing belt think about the mechanical parts it controls. maybe an issue lies inside the head or something

well first thing is leaving leaving it to rest will not fix your problem just keep another dsm off the streets... did you take the head to a shop and get it all cleaned up.. if not do so get the cams checked valves valve guides and anything else it needs... once again a blt would be good just for the hell of it
 
yeah its still doing the it starts and runs ok when cold but a minuit later if you presss on the gas the rps will just sLOLy rise any ideas?
 
I had the same exact problem when i first got mine, turns out it was the maf sensor. Actually it wasnt even the sensor itself, just the plug was loose. Thats what I firmly believe is your problemo.
 
idk i am having this same problem.............. cant figure it out.. my turbine housing heats up in 5 min and glows red... rpms take forever to rise and wont go over 3300
 
yeah figured it out, i had it dumping to much fuel so i backed it off alil bit on the afc and runs great thanks guys
