My Greddy Type-S BOV was on my car when I bought it. I was trying to follow Wobble's guide to adjusting it, but noticed that my adjustment bolt does not move up and down. Normal? Broken? Can I fix it? Thanks.

edit: the jam nut is removed, and the bolt still doesn't move up or down.

Took the BOV apart and found that the previous owner must have stripped out the threads that were formally in the purple anodized aluminum cover. He then put a nut on the inside of it to hold the adjustment hex-bolt. Unfortunately, this means that any small adjustment made means taking the BOV apart, reassembling it, trying the adjustment, taking the BOV apart, reassembling it..........etc. I finally found what Wobble was talking about with the adjustment just barely making the BOV plunger move out of its seat and locking down there. The bad news is that it functions exactly the same all the way soft as it does about halfway through the "hard" adjustment. The only difference noticed in performance is when it is adjusted too "hard." I don't get the "whoosing" sound of the BOV during part-throttle and the car doesn't act right. My conclusion is to just leave it on soft or the factory setting and leave it. I'm going to try and hook up the small postitive pressure hose, next, and see if that makes any difference.

I hate the greddy type S, that adjustment screw strips out very easily. Go get a tap that is slightly larger at the hardware store and a new bolt. Ive had to retap mine twice. Ive only tried adjusting it twice :thumbdown If I ever have a reason to buy another bov it wont be a greddy type s.
