Ok, I didn't know exactly where to put this.

The issue is overheating on my new engine that was just built. Temp reads 252 when I run it down the interstate about 1 mile at 80 MPH trying to do 1/2 of a 3rd gear pull. The engine check light comes on as its suppose to when it over heats. When it overheats the rpm goto 1800 to 2000 on idle. both fans are working right. the coolant lvl is full an you hear it boiling in the reserve tank. The radiator is new with the 2 fans on it. yes I did talk to showdown about the overheating issue but there stumped too. As soon as it cools down the rpms go back to 800 idle. Any thought's would be appreciated guy's thanks.

Also, from what I seen on some of the other threads like this one they all ended with s thermostat check. Thats new too.

Are you running ARP studs? If so did you retorque them? I read another guys problem with overheating/pushing coolant where his headgasket didn't seal properly because his head studs had loosened up a bit after the first few runs. He tightened them up and was fine.

Yes an yes I also had the head O-Ringed. I was woundering they said they put a tune on it an when I ran at wot the WB was reading 14:1 an im running a 50/50 water methanol mix. Does that sound right at WOT to be that high???

Issue still not solved. I replaced the thermostat an re torqued the apr's 3 were loose. I still have the over heat issue. I noticed that my oil pressure is just about the L even when i'm at wot. Everything is new radiator oil pump water pump everything an the head is o-ringed. so no compression issues there.I did notice that at 216 deg that the fluid didnt look like it was flowing when it hit 240 it would shoot out the radiator. The thermostat opens an you can pour fluid into the neck. Does anyone think that the water pump could of went out. which makes no sence, since its new OEM one. Any insite would be great.

Hey bud. Just a few questions. You have a FMIC, are you also running your AC condenser? What's you cooling situation? OEM Rad? OEM Fans or slim fans?

Most importantly, is it still idling high? My cooling situation got a lot better when I fixed my high idle. I removed my AC condenser and installed 3 10" slim fans and put in a 175 thermostat. It seems to be under control now.
