Engine Internals
Rebuilt Engine, Cylinder head either needs to be retorked, or some valves replaced or the cylinder head just needs to be replaced all together

What else is done to the car? Is the car dying when you apply the brakes and coast down to a stop or only when you come completely to a stop? Is the car automatic or 5-speed. Is the car turbo? If turbo, are you venting the BOV to atmosphere? Do you have more info about your car???

You can't expect help if you don't provide more information about your car. There's a reason why we have member profiles.

the biss might just need to be adjusted, but i doubt it,....

has it ever worked?

what did you change that made it stop working?

Are you sure your recirculating? A small boost leak wouldnt make your car die, so you should look for any big holes in your IC piping.

Shit this is an easy fix, just don't stop. ROFL . OK now I'm serious, does the car sound like it is not getting fuel. Can it idle once started again. I'm thinking fuel pump. When is the last time you changed the fuel filter? Did you hear any noise from the engine?

Let us know. :thumb:

My car stumbles/dies when stopping. Is there a fix?

This is a symptom of a broken speed switch, which is a part of the speedometer in the instrument cluster assembly. With the switch inactive, the ECU does not know the car is moving and doesn't keep the idle high enough to operate the power brakes. For details on why this switch is important, read this post, where Todd Day (the 'talon mgr') explains it, and this one where he explains how to diagnose it. Search the archives for more information.

Less than 2 minutes to find....

Its a non turbo, and yes its when i stop or slow down to like a coast the idle starts to quiver and then it dies. Sometimes i can save it by pressing harder on the brake but that doesnt always work. Oh and its an automatic. Anything else you wana know? Oh and im a girl not a guy, thanx.

I wanna say your car looks awsome but its a non turbo!!! No spool sound...no BOV sound no fun to me....But the paint looks mint. :thumb: :dsm:

I have an automatic Talon that had this problem. Turns out it was the lockup solenoid (aka...the torque converter clutch solenoid). What was happening was that the torque converter would lock up like it's supposed to in the higher gears (it's a fuel economy thing) but then when i slowed to a stop it wouldn't disengage, so the car would still be in the higher gear and it would stall out. I would have the car scanned for trouble codes just to be sure. :)
