I did a dual gauge pod for my 97 GST. The factory a pillar wont stay up now it is just loose. I tried to use an epoxy on it but it only held for about a week. If anyone has an idea I would be gratefull because it looks like Shit with the top down. Thanks guys.

Does your factory A pillar have some plastic peices that "hook" so to speak into metal holes? In other words instead of push pin style they go in and down. The reason I ask is Im not 100% sure about the spyder models. If so I might have a trick that will work for you.

It is the push pin style with the metal clips on the back of the plastic hook. I think the plastic is wore out. If I cant figure out how to fix it, ill order a new OEM A Pillar and get the full pillar gauge pod from the website above. I think they are the only one that offers it for the spyder. Trying to save money if I can.

O, ok I dont why I assumed you had bought a full a pillar pod to begin with, never mind.

If your looking for something to mount 2 gauges I would just get the one that replaces the trim around your dash bezel. They are deff more secure.

You only need one or the other bro.

The pillar from Gaugepods.com is a full replacement for the oem piece.

I have one on my 99 GSX and couldn't be happier. Fit perfect, color matched to my interior perfectly.

So the one from gauge pods is a direct replacement for the oem piece? Didnt realize that I thought it just covered the oem piece. I had one on my 99 gs and it just covered the factory piece. Does the one from gauge pods come with the metal clips that lock it in place. Thats what I need ### mine are wore out.

^^^Agreed. Screamin Eagle's picture looks like the www.gaugepods.com product (I have one, too). They sell 2-pod A-pillar models for the Spyder, too. Check it out - $50.

Don't know how wedded you are to the a-pillar mounting position, but I'm kind of a fan of CarbonTrix's above-dash pods, not as visually obtrusive as you think and it puts the gauges in plain view.

http://carbontrix.com/misc.htm

Can fit 52mm or 60mm gauges, just specify.

Alright, did some research. The one from gaugepods.com just screws in the metal a pillar. My dual gauge pod in fine mounted to the oem a pillar cover, its the cover that wont hold. I should be able to use self tapping metal screws to drill it to the metal a pillar like I would the aftermarket one right??
