HELP ME INSTALL MY HEADUNIT...please?

I need help installing my headunit...or more specifically....how the hell to take apart the dash and get the headunit out.

I tried this morning, but it was bein a b1tch and it seemed like the whole center console wanted to lift out....im

I just need to know how to install this damn headunit...nobody responded to my last post and im getting desperate. I don't wanna destroy my dash/console in the process..and I know I'm doing something wrong.

Is there an installation guide or something I could look at? Any help would be appreciated!

Didnt you get a instruction manual with the adapter piece for your head unit? If not I would go get a Haynes manual at any auto parts store and read it before you work on your car. You sound like you dont know what you are doing so I would read up on that before you tear into your car and screw something up.

haha im not taht big of a retard...im just frustrated. I can't find the haynes repair manual...my autoparts store is out

I was just having trouble with the center console today and getting to the headunit.

I wish i had my haynes manual right now

that's because the whole thing needs to come out.

use a flat screwdriver at the corner of the plastic trim piece surrounding the HVAC controls and pull it out. undo the screws that you see once removed. pull out the ashtray/cupholder and take out those screws. flip the seats forward and remove the two screws on side. unscrew the shift knob, lift the center console up, and undo the connections for the cigarette lighter. takes less than 5 minutes

hey whats goin on...yeah I'm in the west suburbs...Villa Park, Oak Brook, Elmhurst area...and my dad lives in DeKalb which I go out to often.

Good to know theres some other DSMers around here...I've had trouble findin any WTF

i should be able to do the headunit...i was just bein lazy and pissed cuz it was 98 degrees out (over 100 in my car) and i was tryin to do it in 30 mins without any knowledge...haha
