chilliwack,
I'll start off with my last years set up because with my upgrades I have only gained 50 whp
I have a 1999 eclipse gsx, I have 255lph fuel pump, 750cc injectors, 1 nozzle meth kit, forced performance 4" intake, FP exhaust manifold, FP Big t28 turbo ported, 2 1/2" down pipe, with 3" exhaust (cat installed) dsm chip, re grind cams (Intake 266 duration 387 lift) (Exhaust 262 duration 375 lift) front mount intercooler, might be a thing or two i am forgetting but i'm sure its just small things. I made 300whp on this set up, its a stock 2.0L 7bolt bolt bock and head.
My new set up
2.3L 7bolt engine, 9.0:1 Wiseco pistons, upgraded stainless valves and bronze valve guides, L19 head studs, felpro R head gasket, V3 ecm link, speed density set up, magnus 2g intake manifold (street) t3 dnp header, precision 6262 turbo, 3" down pipe, 4" intake with velocity stack, running two meth nozzles one before the turbo and another before throttle body, 1g throttle body. before they ran my car on the dyno they boost tested it to 40psi with out any leaks, my car did 350whp. the guy who dyno my car said something is holding it back fuel was not a problem. Before he dynoed it, he was sure to get 450 to 500 hp out of this set up. They are leaning towards my cams and cat keeping me from my goals.
I am in the middle of changing my cams and removing my cat. I went with FP4R cams
Im wondering what you guys think of me putting down 350whp with my new set up... Could cams and a cat hold me back that much?
