Hello Friends ! I'm planning on upgrading my 2G and it'll be a a street / daily driver

Goal in a near future: approx 350-400 whp.

Actually I have basically few mods
- Injen Intake Pipe
- K&N FIPK filter
- Dejon Upper IC pipes
- Dejon Lower IC pipes
- AEM Wideband / Autometer Boost Gauge
- Rewired Fuel Pump

I'm doing the mods one at a time;

My biggest doubt is: Should I get FIRST a 3' Exhaust or a Bigger Turbo ?

1) Exhaust:
Ebay SRS Catback (heard good reviews about that) + Megan Downpipe

1) Turbo:
EVOIII 16G OR Holset HX35 (which one is best ?)

2) Walbro 190 + 650 Injectors

3) DSM Link

4) FMIC

5) Head Gasket + Arp Studs

6) XTD Stage 3 Clutch

The exhaust kinda depends on the turbo. I would get all the supporting mods first, like the injectors, fuel pump and some sort of tuning device and then decide on the turbo then order the correct exhaust.

go to a 255 walbro and bigger injectors.

Evo 8/9 valve spring kit

get an exhuast first then upgrade the rest all at once

upgrade intake manifold exhaust manifold and throttle body

dont forget when you get a new down pipe to weld you wideband :thumb:

Why upgrade the springs on stock cams? People have been making 350-400 horsepower on the stock intake manifold and throttle body for years. I am not sure why it is any different for this setup.

What about a new clutch kit?

great suggestion, how are you going to put that power down.

I would get Ecmlink and a oil pressure gauge first. Start logging and see how your car is preforming over all.

If you are getting a new fuel pump, I also recommend to rewire the pump while you are at it.

If you plan on running either the 16g or a holset at its potential, you are going to heat soak that stock SMIC. I would get a FMIC, preferably one that proven themselves(ETS VRSF Punishment).

Also, With a 255 Walbro I will need a AFPR right ?

yeah.

I would get evo 8 injectors or bigger and a 255 rewired pump. (also AFPR)

Then get dsmlink and do couple logs and see how you are doing.

Then you could get the FMIC, Turbo and exhaust. (turn up the boost and enjoy)

Don't forget maintenance!

Oh, I forgot to mention that friends

I'm willing to purchase a Stage 3 XTD clutch =)

If you wanna go on a bit cheaper side get a evo 9 pump its a direct drop in and1/4 to 1/2 the price of a walbro with a little less flow.

I'm with Brad. 3 of us run Evo 8/9 pumps with no issues. I'm running a 14b at 20psi, no fuel issues.
My other friend is running a 2.4l with a tdoe6 20g at 20psi+ iirc with no issues.

Plus you cannot hear it...

Oh that's good to hear. Where can I find those for sale on the web ?

Also, will I need a AFPR or the car will handle the fuel press ? The Walbro 190 don't need a AFPR.

And oh, I thought that the 255 sound was because of the voltage. Someone said that a rewired 255 will do much less noise. Is that true ?

Thanks !

Basically you should work your way up without having to tune the car. For example, exhaust, intake, fmic with piping, bov, clutch kit. Then the fuel system can come after that such as fuel pump rewired, injectors sizing and afpr, then after that, you'll need something to tune on your fuel setup. 190 pump with 550cc and a safc should be minimum for up to 320whp, or 255 with afpr, and 550cc or bigger require ecmlink or better for over 350whp. Dont forget to get a boost controlle as well.

If you can get the hx-35, you should be more happy with it, otherwise 16g will get you to 300whp easily. I'd go with the hx-35 for better future power.

Wideband is a must when tuning.

Looks like a pretty good list so far, if i were building a 350-400hp daily my list would consist of...
(all routine maintenance aside of course)
-fp cast manifold
-hx-35 dsm flange
-1000cc injectors(room to grow)
-dsm link
-act xtreme street disk
-walbro 255
-wide band
-arp head studs
-fmic
Link is kinda pricey, but SUPER worth it in the long run. I don't know much about it, i run aem. But my buddy just got link for his 2g and he LOVES it. Just my .02, good luck with the car man!
