I found a 1993 Talon TSI FWD with 160k miles. It needs new pistons and rings because the last owner burned them up. he wants $300 But I think I will offer him $200 and go from there. Another question I have is should I try to replace the pistons or just do an engine swap. The body looks to be in pretty goos shape if that is any extra help. Any other info I can findout and provide if you want. I would apperciate any advice Thanks

Do you think I could find a junk yard engine and just swap it? I would still like advice on if its a good deal or not.

yeah, that's a good deal. I mean if you don't mind doing some work. If you are starting basically from scratch, then what matters is the condition of the body. So, 300 for a shell is a good deal. Specially if it has a working transmission. If you want a project, then why not. Kinda weird someone asking if they should spend 300 dollars for a car.. Guess there are people more broke then me out there...no, nevermind, I'm the most brokest of them all... :thumb:

I want something thats gonna work, thats all. Something I can fix and then drive. I want to make sure 160k miles is not too much ware on the car. I already know about high miles my currentTruck hads 250k on it (92 F-150). I don't know how well reliabe a talon shell is with that kinda miles.

Alright Itook another look and 3 of the pistons are good the problem is one got chipes so myt next question is how much for pistons rings and rods? and is it still a good deal he wants $400
The engine has 60k miles on it and the cam looks good so does the valves.
