My 90 galant GSX just stalled when i was driving in a really busy street. The car started making a clicking sound under the glove box and within seconds the car just died. I tried starting it, it does start but dies within 5 seconds(+clicking sound) and check engine light turns on. After reading about +50 posts from here and galantvr4.org with the word "ECU", "stalling" and "clicking" , I ve concluded that the ECU is the culprit.

I checked the ECU capacitors and one of them was leaking, I replaced the leaking 16V 100uF capacitor with a "new" one from a Hayundai ECU (apparently hyundai uses mitsu ECUs)
I cleaned the pcb board and soldered the capacitor correctly. you can see in the 2nd pic the corroded copper, hence i made a jump coonection.

I soldered the capacitor through the bottom circuit and on the top circuit aswell.
PLEASE DO TELL if I didn't do it correctly! thanks

After i replaced the cap the car now erraticaly runs good as if nothing was wrong and most of the time starts good and then the ECU kills the engine (click sound under the dash and check engine light on)

I don't know what caused this problem the only thing i did with the car was change the airfilter and oil change last saturday. I droved the car everyday until thursday.

PLEASE help me guys! im lost now and don't know what else to do! many thanks in advance!

You said the CEL comes one. Whenever that happens the first thing you want to do is check the code.

Thanks man for the respones.
I've decided to buy another ECU. I've changed all of the three caps, i checked for shorts and connectivity in all the traces and soldered caps. The car still shuts off after a couple of seconds (click sound from the module right beside the ECU). But the engine starts fine no weird noises or what not. No CEL anymore. I even checked for error codes but didn't find any (only short pulses).

Once I get my "new" ECU and my car still shuts off by itself.. what else could be causing this problem??
