possible ecu problem

Ok this is my story,I was driving and my car lost what felt like 2 cyls runs like crap. So I was able to limp it back to the shop that I work at.I thought that it might have bin the coil pack. Nope not that I tried swaping the coil,trans, the cas maf. The problem is that the CEL light is on but there are no codes.Has aneyone eles hade this problem. It seems like an ecu problem but after reading the forms i have not found aney thing like this. O and the scan tool that i am using is the old snap on brick.

If you suspect the ECU then open it up and inspect it for leaking capacitors.

I did open he ecu up and it looked liked it was bad. So I swap it with another and it did the same thing. I do not know if the other ecu was good but I took the cover off and it looked ok. I did not know if aneyone hade a short or something that would do the same thing. I dont't want to buy a reman and it not fix it.
