My friends and I are getting pretty frustrated now......
We picked up a 95 Eclipse nt for $500 with a blown engine. We bought a block and crank and had everything rebuilt, the whole long block.
We finally put the engine in after a long time of assembly.

Here are the problems we encountered, fixed, and where we are now. The car has always cranked but never started.

1. There was no fuel getting to the fuel rail/injectors. We found out the fuel pump was bad so we replaced it.....after a while of messing with the fuel pump we found out the wires were crossed so after fixing that fuel came out of the fuel rail.

Still only cranked......

2. We checked with a timing light if the coil pack was good, only 3 coils were working. We changed the coil pack out to a good one and we were getting spark on all 4.

Only cranking......

3. We checked the spark plugs, which were new, to see if they smelled like fuel. Nothing, no fuel was getting to the injectors. We took the injectors and rail off the intake manifold and found out they were clogged. We took them out cleaned them out with injector cleaning solution and put them back on and they worked perfectly. Put everything back on......

STILL ONLY CRANKING......

4. I am kind of new to non-turbo dsm's so I did some reading.....Crank sensor must be bad is what I thought. We purchased a new one as well as the connector. Hard wired it......still no start.

5. The problem we have now is the coil pack is not receiving power anymore, no spark on any coil.:confused::confused:

Could the ECU be bad?......Cam Sensor? or the Relays on the firewall?????

Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks.

Well, several things could come into play here. First, make sure you have 12 volts to the coils and the injectors. Does your tach move when you crank? Does the fuel pump prime up when you turn the key on? 2g's nt have a little relay called an ASD relay. Your car is more like a Chrysler than a Mitsu. Wiring wise anyway. Check all your fuses. Check with a light not your eyes. ASD relays can and do go bad. Get a schematic to locate the precise location.

That's the cheapest and easiest place to start.

Good Luck
