I am thinking that either the guts are out of the front or center diff, but I'm not sure how to properly diagnose anything drivetrain related, so I'm asking for a little help.

I can drive the car, shifts in and out of gears fine. But it has no power. If I keep giving it throttle in whatever gear, it will very gradually pick up speed, but nothing like it should be. The tach and RPMS show what my speed should be, but I'm not going those speeds. Also there is a ton of rear end noise that is RPM related.

I put the car in gear, jacked up each front wheel seperately and I could spin them 360 degrees with ease. So that tells me front diff, right? Any other tests I should do to be certain of the problem?

This is a 95 AWD with a manual tranny.

New bit of evidence in the case... I put it in neutral with e brake down, and I couldn't push the car around at all, felt like it was glued to the ground. I do have brakes, obviously, because I can stop when I'm moving although they do feel somewhat spongey... The e brake pulls up with no resistance, so it may be stuck. But why would the car not move when all the wheels spun freely when individually jacked in the air?

Need more of a description. How did your trans come to this point? Did it happen after a launch? Just to let you know also, the front diff is stronger then the center and its rare to go out instead of the center diff. When you say the car doesn't accelerate like it should, do you mean it feels like the clutch is slipping?

It does feel like a slipping clutch, but the clutch is definitely NOT slipping.. tranny shifts like butter and I can feel the engage and disengage.

Yeah, I bought this car with a huge turbo on it and the kid said he thought it needed a transfer case, but when I tore into it there was a hole in the tranny kind of close to where the transfer case bolts in, obviously launched very hard and broke something.

I'm just confused by the fact that all wheels spin freely when one is jacked up and the other 3 are on the ground, but I can't push the car when its on the ground. So maybe its both a brake issue and a shredded center diff issue?

I just want someone who knows trannies to kind of verify the problem before I rip into this tranny.

I just had the same issue you are having all summer long and just got it working again. Text my cell. Its 651-331-6807. It is much easier to communicate that way then posting back and fourth ha. I'll definently help you out.
