Guys I need some help after I installed my downpipe today, my A/F ratio gauge just stays at lean it wont go any higher than lean. I also removed the Cat I thougth this will make the car run even richer. It was perfectly fine before the downpipe what can cause this too happen ??

No what do you mean by Ground the exhaust?? I didnt know u have to ground anything please explain thanks.

I remember there was a Ground for the cat after taking the cat off I just ignore that ground wire. Is that why my gauge is reading Lean ??

I dont know much about your problem but

"Coldandafraid: did you ground the exhaust?"

Seems to me that cold may know what you need, and that cat wire seems to be a ground to your exhaust. So go ahead and put that back on and try your luck

Hey-

You need to ground the cat I think for the air/fuel gauge to read right. I think that thing you unplugged has something to do with the o2 sensor, and thats where your air/fuel readings come from so that could definately be your problem.

My new downpipe elminates the cat, so how should i re attach that ground wire /?

Or, you could get a self-tapping metal screw and just screw it into the pipe.

Use sandpaper to clean your contact points. Nice and shiny :thumb:

Guys I did the Grounding for the Exhaust still Gauge reads Lean. I tried many different contact point just to make sure I have good contact but nothing seems to change.

Im guessing your gauge is just reading lean because of the weak ground connection? If so wouldnt worry about it.

I dont think its the Ground because it will Fluctuate on the lean bar but it will never go pass the LEAN. It use to go back and forth but now even at WOT it wont go pass lean.

Problem fixed it was the o2 sensor in the o2 housing that was bad, replaced with OEM o2 sensor car runs a lot smoother.
