I've checked for a few hours on this site looking for the same question I'm asking but cant find it. So heres my question. I don't know exactly where to start. I've had my head ported and polished and had them check for bent valves. They didn't come up with any thing. So i put my head back on.. ran good. But now I'm wondering something, Now that i have the money to at least do some bottom end work. Should i take the head to a machine shop and have them look over my valve train components for ware and tear? I'm going to have to turbo this motor cause I'm going to use low comp pistons and eagle rods. the question i have is am i safe with using stock parts for a while? Like for the head? I think I'm going to turbo it to like 5-7 psi for motor break in. I just want to make sure cause i don't want to be spending all this money and have something go wrong. My head never knocked or any thing maybe I'm just paranoid. But I'm asking you guys cause i also want to know if any of you have done the same thing?

Thanks

and also get new main bearings, and every thing to help make this engine reliable

You are fine to boost with factory head components. If you plan on big boost, may consider putting some head studs in. While you probably won't need to, if the headwork was recent, having a shop inspect your head is never a bad idea.

A comment about your eBay build kit, though. When you get your kit, I would check every part number of every component to make sure they actually fit on your car, before tearing it down. eBay vendors can be shady sometimes.

Thanks man. IM not sure if you can see this but one day i hope to do this
