Finaly got the head almost all finished up. Now I just need to match the ports together with the intake and exhaust manifold. The exhaust side still looks a little rough around the edges, but it will all get cleaned up. I have right about 20hours into the porting, polishing and fixing it up(1/2 the valve cover bolt holes were striped out). Nothing major was done to the head as far as porting. I took out all the rough casting marks, slimed the intake port split, ground the valve seat smoothly to the port and took the step out. The exhaust side is the only side I really took material out and still it wasn't much. I opened the bowls up slightly and widened the ports. The combustion cambers were all de-bured.

C&P did all the machine work. I can't say enough about C&P. Awesome customer service and they do fantastic work! Resurfaced, 3 angle valve job(ground the valves to match primary), valve height was reset, and new exhaust guides.

This is my first time porting a head. I have learned so much and gained many kudo points with my die grinder.

I'm really curious to find out how the 14b will react to slightly larger exhaust ports, hopfully it sill boosts:)

Since you'll have a nice and tight cyl head you should be able to feel some what an improvement, but don't forget that the 14b only goes so far..
What are your goals?? What was the machine work price?? The port job looks decent.

My goal for this car is to build a quick 14b powered FWD. This is going to be my daily driver, and my winter car. As far as numbers, hoping for 225whp and maybe a mid 13. Porting the head really was just to get some experience. So far with the cost of tools (sandpaper rolls), heli coils, guides, machine work, and beer I'm right at $450. The machine work was $330 with the guides, defiantly lower than what I anticipated.
