Head gaskets

hey guys i was just wondering wut kind of head gasket would be the strongest to buy, and also wut else can you do to ensure it lasts long. Another thing is why would you get different stuffs for your head? wut benefits does that have to your car?

A Multi Layer Steel (MLS) headgasket is going to be your best option. Cometic makes a nice inexpensive one. As far as head "stuffs" (I'm assuming you meant studs) are concerned, go with ARP. They are the best you can get. Between getting the ARP studs and a Cometic gasket, you'll be good to go for years and years and it'll take as much abuse as you can throw at it (the gasket and studs at least...)

People always seem to jump to big names like Cometic. The stock composite headgasket from Mitsu combined with some ARP headstuds works great, and the gasket itself is very inexpensive. I think people underestimate the stock one for the simple fact that it's "stock", and it's cheap. But be assured, that combo has held for many people on here, including myself.

At higher boost levels, that composite gasket doesn't hold up. At stock boost levels, it'll be good.

It can handle much more than stock boost if you are using headstuds. Again people for some reason seem to underestimate this combo. For what reason, I have no idea.

Stay with the stock composite gasket unless both head and block have been re-surfaced.
